About Rabbit & Hare

I’m Lydia, and Rabbit & Hare was born from watching my twin daughters grow.

They’re the rabbit and the hare – similar creatures, but not identical. One steady and thoughtful, the other quick and spirited. Twins, but entirely their own people.

I wanted them to be able to dress in a way that reflected that – coordinated without being matchy-matchy, connected but individual. When I couldn’t find childrenswear that did this well, I started making it myself.

How it works

Every piece at Rabbit & Hare is designed with coordination in mind. The same garment comes in complementary colourways, so twins or siblings can share a print but express it differently. A romper in sky blue for one, blush pink for the other. The same beautiful fabric, two distinct looks.

It’s not about matching. It’s about belonging together while being themselves.

What we make

Each piece is handmade to order in England using organic cotton and prints designed by British artists. I work with a small British fabric supplier who shares my commitment to quality and sustainability.

Nothing is mass-produced. Everything takes 3-4 weeks to make because I’m sewing each order myself, fitting it around life as a mother and a military spouse who moves every few years.

The range is intentionally small – capsule collections rather than full wardrobes. Thoughtful pieces that work together, built to last, designed to be worn and loved.

The prints

I work with British artists to create prints that feel special – hand-drawn, nature-inspired, full of character. Each print has a role: some are soft and baby-led, others playful and expressive, others elegant and dress-forward.

They’re designed to coordinate across ages, so siblings of different stages can still feel connected through colour and pattern.

Together in style, their own in spirit

That’s the heart of it. Childrenswear that celebrates connection without erasing individuality. For twins, for siblings, for families who want beautiful things that last.
